The leaves, they are a changing
Union Square Park’s much-argued-about construction project began this week, and some lovely changes to the park are already in place. The reduction of walkway space to half of what once was is a most welcome change, as are the CATs parked throughout the space that was once home to pedestrians and nighttime frisbee teams. I’m also a huge fan of the constant metal-on-concrete tune being played out there.
You can see the tiny image of the plan the Parks Department is offering here, along with the estimated completion “date” of Spring 2009, and some numbers if you’re curious what it’s all going to cost.
