Snow
There is nothing better than waking up to find my city covered in snow.
(That was this morning.)
This one is back in December, the second snow of the year:
Cotton Candy-like flakes!
But of course they weren’t super sticky, and the ground wasn’t cold enough to make it last. So this:
…quickly became this:
Then we got some more a few days later.
And it was cold enough to make icicles for a while.
But then I took down our tree, and the season of winter seemed to end. What’s with all these 36 degree days?
Then finally a couple days ago the snow finally deigned to visit again, so Eric and I went to Central Park.
And found that Jesus had been there.
We also ogled the Zamboni.
But the snow still kind of sucked.
So Snow, quit being a fair-weather friend and give us one really pretty, snowball-friendly storm. Thx.

The Nunnery and Tori Spelling
During my softball game on Saturday, I saw some nuns who were also enjoying the park, rollerblading, ever so tentatively, up a short hill.
How did I know they were nuns? They were in full dress, and if I hadn’t been on the field, I would’ve snapped a shot. Instead, just picture these girls in blue dress and wearing blades in place of water.
Then, in the 96th Street station heading back home, I noticed a promotion for Tori Spelling’s new show, Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood.
On her poor pregnant belly, someone had scrawled,
“PLEEAASE VALIDATE ME.”
Maybe she could hang with the nuns. They seem pretty happy, and they don’t even have a tv show.

It’s National What Day?
Pigeon Day! These people seem truly in love with the dirty bird.
Immediately following Deacon Dwyer’s talk, he will conduct a Candlelight Vigil and Prayer Service for the pigeons of New York City, accompanied on the guitar by Jan Fredericks. Copies of the Best Friends Proclamation will be available for hand out.
But it has to be a joke, right? You’ll arrive at the purported vigil, and find a bunch of people kicking pigeons instead…
I won’t be at the celebration at Pilgrim Hill, Central Park today. If for some reason you want to be, they start at 4:00.
The organizers are also promising to share some cookies with you, but based on the subject of the gathering, I fear they’ll be sharing with pidge, too.
