I woke up today with the feeling that [for once!] I had something to say here.  But the morning since then has been spent excavating the brain and finding nothing relevant in here but the feeling that there is something I’m forgetting.

But!  I’m not going to close up shop like a disappointed panhandler (the gold-panning kind).

Instead, I’ll tell you that I’m frustrated by the fact that without fail, when I walk around the house without shoes on, my feet will find a puddle.  And I don’t think I’m alone in despairing when wearing wet socks.

Second, I had a strange dream that involved my being suddenly back in college and moving out of my current home with Eric, into a dorm room on 2nd Ave.  One of my main worries was packing.  “Should I bring my aeron chair?  I don’t want those assholes sitting in it.”  (A little too literal, my dream dialogue.)  I hate school-based dreams with dorms and old “friends” and books in them, but I think this one was about starting over.  But fuck, you don’t care about that.  Here’s the money shot:

Finally, I was half-awake at 6:30 this morning, when it was still very dark.  And it felt like the bed had shaken in a big way, so I thought maybe the building shook and that maybe it would be prudent to open my eyes to investigate, and I looked up and thought there was a stegosaurus in our bedroom.

    The end.
