Seeds
This morning, I washed a tomato, and as I was about to slice it open, I noticed what looked like four tomato-blackheads, just beneath the surface of the skin. Now, I’d kept this tomato far longer than I usually would, so I was already thinking this probably wasn’t for consumption anymore.
And when I opened it up, I found that four seeds had decided to make a go of it, barreling their way through the meat of the thing, but finding themselves stumped at the skin. Still, they persisted, and I found a twirling mess inside.
